Hello! My name is Laura Travelstead and I enjoy helping people feel and function better. Having worked in physical therapy for 33 years, I decided to go to John A. Logan College to become a Massage Therapist (like I have wanted to since jr high). While a PTA, I started learning John Barnes myofascial release in 1995. Trigger point release and deep tissue massage are a couple of my favorite massage techniques. I love to feel tight muscles relax as I hear my patients breathing slow down as they completely let go (with an occasional snore). :) A large part of who I am is dancing. Having danced since I was 5 yrs old I currently teach ballet at my family's dance studio, Travelstead Dance Studio. In dance, you are aware of how important function is. I am also active in my religion and in the Marion Civic Center Foundation Board. My two dogs, Jr. and Sadie and my dance students are my children.
